The med-level technical tester may act in a specialist technical role or general consulting role with a focus on identifying technical test solutions. These solutions may relate to areas of testing such as system integration, system or non-functional type testing. This can involve reviewing architectures or integration documents, writing custom test harnesses or automated tests through to implementing a load test exercise.
Responsibilities include: Review technical requirements/specifications Review system architecture to determine appropriate test points Identify appropriate testing required Test scheduling Provide test advice Performance testing Load testing Automation Identify and provide/arrange necessary training to business or test groups Ensure adherence to agreed Test Strategy, Plan and project schedules Potential writing of custom test solutions (test harnesses, SQL scripts etc.) Analyse and report on test results
